Member Services

One of the core responsibilities of the Association of Allied Health Professionals (AAHP) is engaging in collective bargaining with the provincial government and employers to negotiate legally binding agreements that protect and enhance the rights, wages, and benefits of our members.

Over the years, AAHP has successfully advocated for stronger protections and fair compensation to ensure that Allied Health Professionals receive the recognition and support they deserve. Each time we enter negotiations, our goal is to secure meaningful improvements—both individually and collectively—that reflect the critical role our members play in the healthcare system.

Collective bargaining is more than just a process—it’s a powerful opportunity for our members to have a direct voice in shaping the working conditions, standards, and policies that allow them to continue delivering exceptional healthcare services. By standing together, we not only strengthen our profession but also enhance the well-being of patients, families, and communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.

The AAHP Collective Agreement establishes the essential terms and conditions that govern our members’ employment. It covers key areas such as:

  • Hours of work
  • Wages and salary structures
  • Benefits, including vacation and sick leave
  • Workplace rights and protections

Additionally, the agreement outlines formal dispute resolution processes, including grievances and arbitration, to ensure that any disagreements regarding the interpretation or application of the contract are addressed fairly and effectively.

This agreement serves as a critical safeguard, ensuring that Allied Health Professionals have the support, stability, and protections they need to continue providing exceptional healthcare services to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. Log in to learn more.

  • Grievances & Legal Support: Managing grievances, arbitrations, and Labour Relations Board applications when employers breach the AAHP collective agreement.

  • Workplace Advocacy: Promoting healthy, safe, and productive work environments while championing professional growth and development opportunities for members.
